How to Help

A National Historic Registry landmark, The Home Association sits on 4.5 acres in Tampa’s Ybor Heights area as a home for the elderly. While its history of care dates to 1899, the Colonial Revival building where the seniors reside was constructed in 1924 at a cost of $110,000.

She’s a grand lady getting up in age, yet her wrinkles still have twinkles thanks to the generosity of patrons in the Tampa community who cherish Tampa’s past and want to insure The Home Association building thrives throughout the 21st century.

This website exists solely to communicate the history and mission of this historic landmark facility, which is owned by the Board of Managers of The Home Association, Inc., a not-for-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to preserving the life and viability of the building and grounds so it can continue to serve those in need.

The skilled nursing care is provided by THE BRIDGES NURSING AND REHABILITATION, LLC. For inquiries about skilled nursing operations at The Home Association such as admissions, patient records, job opportunities, etc., contact (813) 229-6901.

The Home Association is a 501(c)(3), a one-of-a-kind treasure, almost certainly the only facility in the country providing a skilled nursing operation in a building listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Like all historic buildings that are a crucial link to our past, continual upkeep is required, and the cost of preservation is not covered by the fees available to serve the elderly and most vulnerable among us.

With your support, you can help insure that this legacy to Tampa’s glorious past will not lose its place as a Tampa and national treasure worthy of preservation. What’s more, your support will help insure that the community’s senior citizens in need will have a place to call ‘Home.’
